Auburn or Yukon
Looking to purchase a limited slip carrier for my 12 bolt. Summit has them on sale and was wondering which one stands up best. Just a shade over 400 hp around 460 torque series 4 (3:73). Or go with something different altogether. Thanks

I would look at the Yukon one I understand its like the Eaton posi and rebuildable
where the Auburn is not rebuildable What are you running for a transmission? |

I did the Auburn in 68 C10 and it works well. With the limited miles I will put on it will last forever.
If you want to spend a bit more I've done a couple hot rods with the Detroit Tru-Trac. No wear parts. |

That should give you good fuel mileage at about about 2100 rpm at 70 miles an hour

I have an Auburn on my '71 GMC Jimmy. Running good for 14 years.

I have only run Auburns and they performed flawlessly. Had one in a '90 Blazer with 33/12.50s for 15 years of daily driving.

I don't like the fact that the Auburn is not rebuildable. However, the Auburn in my Z28 has about 180k miles on it and is still going strong.

I’ve been stuck between the truetrac and Eaton posi. I’m leaning more towards the Eaton posi cause I’ve read the truetrac doesn’t take the shock of torque very well. They’re limited on the power they can take.

Yukon. I love the TruTrac in the front axle of my '52 M38A1 but don't have any experience with one in the rear. But it's a great choice for a daily driver while the Yukon would probably be better in a street/strip application.
