Re: 1971 Medium green K 5 Blazer

Beautiful truck. Bought mine in Cali and ruined it in pa. Mine came from the Bay Area and had a decent amount of rust to start with. Looks great in the mint medium blue color.

Re: 1971 Medium green K 5 Blazer

Great to see another one! It seems to be a rare color on the Blazers. Your door panels are different from mine. Mine are metal. Maybe yours are from a 72. Thanks

Re: 1971 Medium green K 5 Blazer

I think your right,it is a rare color.Im not positive but mine has different panels than yours because mine is cst blazer from the factory. The drivers door on my blazer is different on my blazer and it has the metal interior piece on that door, that door is from a 70 blazer.I have seen under ten blazers with that color and so far they have been 71 and 72 blazers cst and non cst blazers.

Found a great and inexpensive way to store my top. Double wall bolted to wood frame in factory holes.

Re: 1971 Medium green K 5 Blazer

Looks like it dabs a good amount of space. When I had mine off I just left it hang from the rafters and parked back under it when I put my truck away. If you back it into the garage first you can pull right out. Just havebyo
Line up right to get back under it. I just raised mine a extra foot when I got not off. Good thinking there though. If I needed the open space where I park my truck I have a good I dea now to get it out of the way.

had mine that way and found that it was warping the top. I will never put the top back on unless I sell it and I will never sell it for any $

Re: 1971 Medium green K 5 Blazer

I lost my ex wife and house but I still kept my truck. I won't part with it except for death. Hopefully My kids will carry on my blazer after I'm gone. Don't think ill ever have the money to do exactly what I want but it's slowly coming together since Christmas of 99. Greatest present I ever have myself. Sold my 67 impala and my ninja street bike to get the money for the beast. But it was always worth it. Can't beat a topless ride in the blazer. I didnt notice any warping on my top at all. Made it much easier to Pull it on and off as I wanted to though. Just pull under and slap the bolts in or out and drive off. I could switch from hardtop to no top in about 20 minutes. If I had the choice is leave it off too. But as time goes by its just easier to leave it on as the weather is pretty unpredictable here in pa.

Didn't want to do this, but getting a little older and getting harder for us to get in and out. I think it looks OK .Second picture from a poker run in Kern County. We won first place for best topless. Beat a 67 Corvette, a couple of 65 Mustangs, and a Porsche.

Congrats on the win! Beautiful Blazer, one of my favorite colors. Like your steps. We are also getting older so interested on how you mounted them. Any info/pics on how you mounted them? What make etc.

Thanks

Re: 1971 Medium green K 5 Blazer

I just checked the invoice and the brand name was not on there. I purchased them from a local off road shop and will go by and get the brand next week. I will send you pictures the next time I go by my shop where I store my classic cars. They were very easy to install. Thanks

The mint green is a pretty cool color.

Love the color, but those steps make me cringe. I totally understand they are needed, but I would have lowered the truck to stock height before adding the steps. Maybe even carry a milk crate around in the truck.

Re: 1971 Medium green K 5 Blazer

After installing factory rally wheels, I have tried two types of after market trim rings. The first set will stay on,but make a clicking and squeaking sound due to the outside edges rubbing on the tires. I purchased a different set and the don't make noise, but they wont stay on. I have to push them back on every 5 or 6 miles. Anybody else experience this problem? Thanks
