Kinda sounds like the lock up clutch in the converter may be going out.

jjzepplin wins the prize! At least that's what I think it is. The proof is to use your left foot to activate the brake light but not not enough to apply the brakes while keeping your right foot steady on the gas. It the shuttering quits it's the torque converter or the converter system.

I was gonna say torque convertor as my truck is doing this exact thing at this moment.
And 50-60mph is side street speeds. Freeway is 80+ round here lol
