Re: I think they should

While I was rebuilding my 82,C-30 ramp truck.I put the fillers for both tanks on the drivers side!
Right behind the drivers door!
Easy to fill, easy to line up with a pump!

Re: I think they should

Larry we just went from a trailer to a motorhome and flat tow the Wrangler.

I can't do much backing up now. I have to plot my course before I pull in. It's a little like pulling the lowboy with that Pete, and about the same fuel mileage.

The cost to fuel that Pete is about the price of a set of tow hooks.

Re: I think they should

Well ,,I can see none of us can change the manufacurers to install the gas fillers to both sides of the cars and trucks ,, so I am thinking of selling my big Diesel truck and my travel trailer and going motel from here on out..
,,
I will wait a bit and see if they come up with pop up gas pumps at the filling stations so when you pull in you will have one one one either side which ever way you drive in.. boy! does this sound goofy,, now i'm studdering..

the latest on my old car tranny work is this ,,,

My son came from Washington where he lives and we are getting the parts today or tomorrow to rebuild the T-5 tranny that I am installing in my 39 ,,and when done I will be happy enough that I dont care what side the filler is on..just get the gas in and drive

There is a great fellow member on this forum "Lugnuts" that is very talented in the overhaul of these old T-5 transmissions , I want to give him a shout out of his sharing of photos and advice from the rebuild and installing of these transmissions .

Re: I think they should

The older Jaguar XJ's had fillers on both sides.

I doubt any manufacture is going through the expense (+weight) for such a convenience today.
