YES or NO on these rims-
Keep in mind that the truck is swb- GMC, 2 tone Black & Silver, and for my teenage son... I have these 22" wheels 1/2 paid for but I can change to another style right now. But I need to make a final choice this week...

Re: YES or NO on these rims-
I would say NO! Those wheels are going to be dated very quickly. I understand its for your son so he wants a contemporary look, but that wheel does not fit the lines of a classic truck.

Re: YES or NO on these rims-
I would have to vote no. Those look like they could be bent very easily too.
Of all the status wheels, I think these would look pretty nice with that color combo but wouldn't be so far out there.

Re: YES or NO on these rims-
Not sure what kind of price you are getting on those wheels, but have you looked at Boyds lately? There are a few rims over there that I would love to see on some vehicles...I think these would look pretty wild on your truck...in some 20's or 22's.

Re: YES or NO on these rims-
That's a big NO. I prefer the more classic truck styles...I like the round hole patterns for trucks myself.

I wasnt overly fond of them either but its the rims he picked.... The truck has 17" Boyd Junk Yard Dogs on them now that I like. He just dont like them and its going to be his truck..... Im glad I asked, I just dont relate with 15 year olds very well....
Here is the truck when I just finised painting the cab with the Boyds on- |

Re: YES or NO on these rims-
I'm pretty old school.... I would also have to say no also.
Those wheels would really need to be mounted on a vehicle that had huge disc brakes with some really large calipers and rotors to look acceptable... and even then I'm thinkin I would still say no. Also I would be worried about the strength in a truck application since only part of the rim is captured by the center. Hope that helps. |

Re: YES or NO on these rims-
Me personally, I wouldn't. But, if your son likes them, then YES! They are his wheels. Where I'm from, that wheel is very popular among the youngsters. So, let him get what he wants. I can guarantee he doesn't want the original rally wheels another member just posted. Y'all are forgetting, he is a teenager. Boy, oh boy, can a fill up a barrel of the stuff I did that didn't make sense when I was a teenager. The wheels may not flow with the lines of the truck, but putting these wheels on a truck to a teenager makes about as much sense as the teenagers who put 26" wheels on the Chevy cars. It a youngster thing and we wouldn't understand.
