Has anybody used headers and what has been your experience with the brand?

Re: Header recomendation 84 4x4 sbc
I've always liked Hooker Headers. Been happy with their fitment and performance. Had them in a few 80's 4x4 with small block and a one with a big block swap.

Re: Header recomendation 84 4x4 sbc
I like my Hedman Elites but they cost 3 times as much as those Summit headers. I wouldn't be scared to use those Summit headers. If money is no object, the Elites are a little heavier (14ga).

Re: Header recomendation 84 4x4 sbc
I use the ceramic coated summit headers on my 80 k10. They fit fine, I didn't have to modify anything, they seem to have nice heavy flanges on them. They have been on a couple of years, no leaks, they came with bolts, and gaskets, but they have a little surface rust down by the collectors now, but I drive the truck in the winter. I would buy another set.

Re: Header recomendation 84 4x4 sbc
I am running them on my '85 2WD and the fit is excellent. If you would do a little research and read the reviews at Summit you will find they fit 4WD just as well, according to people who have bought them.

I run Headman 69830's. Great fit, no leaks. I used ARP 12pt header bolts, and the FelPro good gaskets. Collectors are double nutted.
