1970 K5 Blazer Fuel Cell

I'm replacing the sending unit in my 70 K5 fuel tank and the only ones I can find are for 20 gallon tanks. I have seen in other posts that some of the 67-72 tanks are 30 gallons. Pretty sure it is the stock tank, but how can I find out how many gallons mine is before I order the sending unit? Thanks for all the help!

Chris.

Can you post a photo of your tank? No OE 30 gallon tanks.

You might have read about people putting 30 gallon Suburban tanks in their Blazers...

Chris.
I think it's 87-91 Blazer that had 30 gallon tanks. Definitely not the 69-72s. There's posts on here of folks making them fit but it takes a fair bit of work.

Re: 1970 K5 Blazer Fuel Cell

I found the dimensions for the stock tank, and mine is a 21 gallon. I should be getting the new sending unit today.

It's clear to see that the PO recently had the fuel cell out with new wires going to the sending unit, but it's the old sending unit, and the gauge doesn't work. I grounded out the wire for the sending unit, and with 0 resistance, the gauge went to Empty like it should. I just don't get it... I'm getting ready to pull the old unit out in a minute, and my new one should be here today.

Thanks for all the help!
