Re: Check this Out

It sounds like salesman bull pucky to me. We all have seen vehicles with "vette motors".

Re: Check this Out

I love how they call the 250, 307, and 350 by the modern metric equivalents

$75K is about what they get for a new Tahoe today, right?

I dunno ... if they would rebuild one as original for about $20k I might go for it. Would have to be a manual four speed, though.

Re: Check this Out

Soooo, somebody had a lot of money and restored a 72 K5 with a lot of name brand parts. Now they are tooting their horn. Anyone of us could have done the same given the money.

Re: Check this Out

So they paid too much for unknown paint. Had to be that Harley Vivid Black. No other black would have looked so nice. Harley paint only comes in quarts and it's a well kept secret who even makes it. You know Harley doesn't. You know it's good paint, but you'll never actually know what product you have from what paint company. I'm not sure what the advantage to using it could possibly be. I love the Blazer. I'd like it more if it had a Blazer engine. The one that came in it.

You know Harley "Vivid Black" is different color than any other black.

Re: Check this Out

The Vette motor thing never seems to go away. Everybody's got a Vette motor when selling a car or truck.

There must be a lot of Corvette's out there with no motor.

Re: Check this Out

I guess that helps me feel better about the money I spent on parts for my Blazer today.

Re: Check this Out

I’ll stir the pot... Thing is, if it’s truly an LS1 than it technically is a Vette motor. Although it could have also come from a Firebird, Camaro, GTO, or Vette.

Nice blazer for sure. Even if I could afford it I wouldn’t spend near that on it.

I had a turd brown 76 Vette L-48 and it was slower than cold molasses.

The color was appropriate for the car.

But the chicks liked it. So I didn't care.
