Smile Another newbie

Hello all I wanted to say hi and say a few things about me I guess.
I just bought a 72 K5 that is a work in progress you could say The list is enless on what I would like to with this old ride ( Aren't they all though) I have been a member of ColoradoK5 for some time I kinda stoped going after I had to sell my 83K5.
On a personal note I'm a Owner Operator I have one Truck a 2000 Western Star and I run most of the lower 48. I'm leased to a small company out of Mt Airy NC. I make my home in Colorado.
In my spare time I enjoy Fly Fishing and 4 Wheelin. I've been doing both for a long time now that I think about it...
Anyway I have been a long time Chevy man all my life I've had a 65 Chevelle SS ( It had a 230 six cly.) And a 65 two door wagon with a 396 and 4sp. ( I wish I still had that one) And a 66 El comino. and 76 FJ-40 Landcruiser that had a 400sb with FI.
And as I said my old 83 and now I have my 2nd gen 1 Blazer the first I didn't have for long but after looking back I should of kept that one too.
Well now you know a little about me maybe to much ...Oh well.
Here is a pic of the new money pit..

Welcome to the board from the Pacific Northwest. I'm also a member on CK5.com and there are several others here too.

Looks like you've got a nice Blazer there. A little damage to the front, but it doesn't look too serious.

Ouch! Nice blazer tho! What does the interior look like?? To post a pic it has to be under 640x480. You can resize it in the paint program. Under "image" "stretch skew" and then put a number under 100. (65 works good for me) Then "image" then "attributes" and make sure that it reads under 640x480. Then go to "file" "save as" and save that file in an easy to find directory. Then when you post just browse for the pic. Easy, eh? Any ?'s PM me.
Like that color on your blazer!

Thank you for the warm welcome

Thanks guy and gals

The inside is not bad whom ever had before me had the floors replaced and the left rear panel done and then it was painted inside and out. I'll get a pic of it tomarrow.

It need help thats for sure I have a bumper coming from Texas on Saturday it looks like the old off of Stephen Watson old K5.

Right now the plan is for a 4in lift I have some Slotted mags set aside for it with some old 35's on them. The 12b needs help but other than that the 350/350/205 setup runs pretty good but as with anything it needs some goodies as well like a HEI a new intake and headers. And lets not for get the dress up stuff

Bouncy I have seen a lot of CK5 ppl here. When I got this old 72 I didn't think there was so much out there to bring it back to life I very glad to see you can find just about anything you need.

I hope to have this old thing looking good well after I spend lots of money.

Welcome to the board, that is a good looking truck reguardless of the bumper. Oh, when you do spend money make sure you take pictures to show us what you spent your money on. It helps to see other people making progress

Smile deal

When I sold the Black 83 up there I wanted a older truck that didn't any of the smog stuff. The 83 didn't have any and it was a pain to get plates for it.
So I kept my eye out for a older K5 when I saw this old thing on a lot I made a deal for it before I drove it.
and from 50ft well maybe 75ft it looks great lol but when you get up close you see that whom ever did the body and paint didn't really care which is to bad.
I would like to know what the bozo hit with it as well. That poor bumper lol But as I said I have one coming I hope it will fit without to much work
So I have started a list of things I want to do with it and it seems to get bigger as each day goes by........

You got it Earl

I need to work on a list of need to get done first stuff like do I really need a speedo? or a fuel gauge?
I found a console today in the junk yard it's not in bad shape well it needs some glue.... but for 10$ it will work till I can aford a tuffy box
There are two hard tops for late 70's blazers one had sliders that looked in good shape.

Well I'll have to keep my yes open. I had a 71 K5 about 10yrs ago that had two Aux. fuel tanks that mounted on the inside over the wheel humps you could say. They both held 12 gal. each. I think they were a Dealer installed thing. they were both painted the factory color.
I haven't seen another since. Untill I was on this site looking at the model pic's and the one with the Blue K5 has those style tanks in the pic.

Welcome from WI. Nice blazer you have there, are you going to repaint the new bumper the same color as the old one? Looks sharp even with the bent bumper.

Thanks guys

As for the new bumper well I'm not sure whats going to happen with that right now it was to be on it's way up to Denver from Texas but I found out this morning that may not be the case.
The new is a tube type made with 1.75 DOM It's a custom setup with a Winch platform.
Anyway I hope to find out what is going on with deal. But I have good news and no I didn't save any money on my car insurance.lol I found out I have a sb 400 and not a 350. WooHoo:p
