The small blue unit is my FM radio, blue tooth, sd card, usb, and 1/8" jack. It has uhf remote so I don't need to point the remote like infrared.

Got the front part of the frame cleaned and painted. First coat, still need to remove the steering box and idler arm and paint behind them.

Re: What did you do to your truck today. The 3rd chapter

After putting the shroud and fan on and taking it off at least 5 times...
I finally got my truck upgraded to a fan clutch, closed coolant system, new 6 bladed fan, new raidaitor with new hoses and clamps! Also learned how to bend some new transmission cooling lines. Easier than I expected.
Very excited to put it all back together.

I'm afraid we're going to need more than just "the small blue unit". Even zooming in I can't read the brand name on it.

Re: What did you do to your truck today. The 3rd chapter

Painted some stuff, and rebuilt the rag joint. The parts are original less the disc, pins, sleeve nut and wave washer that came in a kit. The coupler and flanges are ceramic coated

Some gibberish, kind of cloudy. I take a lot of notes, though this little project called for captions. Took me a little while to figure it out, cuz I'm slow

Might help others build one. Doubt I'll ever build another, but who knows. Glad to have rebuilt this as opposed new. The old parts are nice. On a side, I used blue thread locker on their nut where the kit calls for a lock washer. Lock washer don't fit.

They're made for motorcycles, I got it off Amazon. The new ones have blue tooth built in, I use a small adapter.

Re: What did you do to your truck today. The 3rd chapter

Working on installing some new front speakers, made a new bracket and think about what I did with the old speaker screw. It pays to be organized, it was blasted, painted and stowed in the bag marked dash.

Re: What did you do to your truck today. The 3rd chapter

I made some progress buttoning up the rebuilt engine for Old Red. All I have to do is put on the exhaust manifolds and it's ready to plunk down in the engine bay. I went ahead and primed the oil and set the distributor in on #1 so I won't have to crawl in the engine compartment to do that.

Can you yank the engine without taking the hood off in these? I have to pull mine this year and I just assumed you did have to take the hood off.

Re: What did you do to your truck today. The 3rd chapter

Yes I was able to remove the engine with the hood on. I lifted it up and forward and then rotated it so the distributor would not hit the hood and then lifted it enough for the oil pan to clear the core support. It's close but it came out.

I did some web research and ordered new inner door panels that will be arriving today. It was a bit of a wait for them to be customized. Will post pictures when I get them in.

Re: What did you do to your truck today. The 3rd chapter

I bored out 67 wiper knobs to 1/4" and added some aluminum tape to simulate deluxe knobs. Added the knobs to my under dash A/C unit. Fabbed up some brackets and installed the under dash unit.

The vibration may be from pinion angle under the weight of a full tank. Ya may need shims in the mounts.

Yes. I don't have a pic from the side but it is approximately even with the bottom of the frame rail, you can see the headers a little bit though.
