Re: fleetside box gas location

I used an 84 bed on a 78 frame.

Fleet side long bed and actually was set up with dual tanks.

A 77 frame with a 79 box should not cause a lot of issues.

I have swapped a lot of beds and tanks.

From what I remember

The 73- 74ish had a small filler neck throat that attached direct to the bed.

And 75-77 had a bigger filler neck.

Then the 1978 box changed to the door.

The plastic box that mounts the filler neck is part of the swap.

The main thing I remember is the different diameter of the inlet on the tank.

The Early model was smaller/
Then the later model was the middle size.

The tanks with the 6.2 diesel had a bigger inlet.

So it is a matter of What tank / What filler neck / and what Bed.
