1977 gmc sierra - 1970 c-10 drive train

I'm thinking about buying my neighbor's 77 gmc sierra and taking the drive train out and dropping in my 70...what do you guys think? do i have to make a lot of modifications?

i want to use the diff, tranny, motor and front brakes...

engine and trans, no problem (assuming like engine and having correct manifolds and mounts)

front crossmember and brakes, no problem (except 5 vs 6 lug)

axle requires welding

Really need more details on exactly what you have, what the donor truck has, and what you are trying to accomplish.
