Re: How about some pics of '73-'87 Crew Cabs Part II
the stock 2006 6.0 does ok but only about 9-10 mpg the truck is heavy . but if I had it to do it over again I would like to have a ls with more horse power a bigger cam and heads would really wake up this 6.0 but I am happy with what I got

I saw this truck setting on the north side of Marshalltown Iowa last Friday. It looks pretty nice to me.

Re: How about some pics of '73-'87 Crew Cabs Part II
My front bench in the crew was decent but the rear was hammered. I had a pair of buckets, console and middle seat from a Suburban. I put the buckets, console in and looked at using the middle seats. But after looking I ended up putting the front bench in back. Which kind of sucks since it doesn't fold forward.
I still may try and install the middle seats at some point. But that will be after I remove the bed and build a tube bed. And remove the tanks and put a single blazer or suburban tank in. Would be nice to have a flat area for carrying gear in the cab.

Picture of my 1986 K30 Scottsdale taken today while I delivered a parts 1971 C10 to a friend. I am sitting on the north side of Bear Butte, which is located just outside of Sturgis, SD.

Re: How about some pics of '73-'87 Crew Cabs Part II
Wow!!!! Just finished looking through the original thread, and this one, only took 2 weeks lol. Some amazing trucks on here for sure. Can't wait to start in on mine. Just picked up a 78 C20 crew for my Valentine's Day gift. Gotta love the wifeys and her gifts. Plan is to convert to 4x4 short bed coil sprung 8"ish lift with 37s and a cummins swap. The last one is along the looks of what I'm wanting.

Re: How about some pics of '73-'87 Crew Cabs Part II
I've loved these squarebody pickups for years now, especially in crew cab and long bed form.
Would love to get my hands on a 4x4 long bed crew cab with a manual transmission, but that seems like a tall order that's unlikely without flatout building it myself, which I just don't have the time to do! I'm also more partial to the earlier '73-80 style front fascia versus the early '80s squared lights and more narrow face. |

Re: How about some pics of '73-'87 Crew Cabs Part II
Actually, it seems like a 50/50 build of 4spd and auto crew 4x4's that I run across. Kinda the same with big blocks and small blocks. If you stay in the 73-80 your looking at small block only. Ive had plenty of 81-91's and always wanted a "round eye" square crew 4x4 so I bought my 76. You just don't see those around like the 81-91 style. But I love them all!!!!
