Re: What are you using for an overflow bottle?

The hose was old and cracked on my truck when I bought it. On a visit to the parts store (auto wrecker) I got this hose and with a little clean time reinstalled it and all is well. I kind of like to know if my rad is spewing out anti freeze so this works for me. My rad is new and I do not have any trouble with it, no over heating prob's, leaks, or over flowing. A rule that I've always kept is that one of the first things that I do is service or replace with a new rad (only) any vehicle that I buy.

Now as far as bling goes there are some real neat over flow tanks out there, and I must admit I'm tempted but the money is going else where at the moment (new bed floor being installed) as we speak. Maybe one day ....

esll.

Re: What are you using for an overflow bottle?

chances are if you are triing to keep your rad full with of a catch can you prolly have a coolant jug so take a knife and make a hole and run the hose , tada i have a catch can

Name: catch can.jpg
Views: 702
Size: 47.4 KB
i filled the jug about a tird full then ran my hose into the jug so it was well into the coolant tehn just ran my hose under battery tray to rad(new by the way put it in today after the shop closed)

Re: What are you using for an overflow bottle?

Thanks for all the ideas. I found one in my parts pile I think I bought a year ago. I couldn't find a place for it (it hit the inner fender everywhere I tried to install it, so I gave up on it), but with my voltage regulator gone now (removed it a few months ago) I found a place for it. I used the tip of running the line under the radiator. Thanks all

Re: What are you using for an overflow bottle?

We still have plenty of coolant recovery systems, using all GM parts with the excepion of the mounting bracket and hoses.

Re: What are you using for an overflow bottle?

I am using a washer bottle from my 73-77 Monte Carlo parts. The skinny side slips in beside the battery just fine, and the bracket screws into the wheel well. I need to get a lid for it tho...

Get out and drive the truck this summer and have some fun!
It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.
