And so, it begins....the rebuild

I will be starting on my truck next weekend. Plans are as follows:
Shorten frame, shorten bed, install rear fuel cell, lower front and rear, install air, tilt and cruise. (Yes, I have all three ready to go in) , nice allum wheels (unknow design just yet), AM/FM CD with subs and components, figerglass kick panels, custom door panels. Recover seat to match grey and black interior, behind the light fuel fill. Sport front and rear chrome bumpers.
Truck will be black on top to body line, then silver from there down. Swapping the front clip for 67-68 clip. I already have the PS and Power disk installed.
Motor:
355, 9.5.1, 2.02 double hump heads (worked). Shooting for 300 hp minimum. TH400 trans that I will build myself, dual exhaust dumped at the axle with 40 series Flowmasters.
First step is to install my new rockers. Then the shortening begins. I have everything except, the wheels, tires and bumpers. Just have to do the labor now.
Parts will be up for sell as they are replaced.

Re: And so, it begins....the rebuild

It sounds so simple right now like you'll have it done in two weekends.

Good luck!

Re: And so, it begins....the rebuild

no kidding. I've been steadily gathering parts for it via purchase, trade and barter. Now that my son't truck is done until he gets some cash of his own, I can start on mine. The only major part of the whole thing is the shortening of the frame and bed.

Re: And so, it begins....the rebuild

When I first got it, I thought it might be a longhorn. But, I measured the bed and it's only 8' so I don't think so.

Re: And so, it begins....the rebuild

Nice truck. Can you tell me the color name and code off the glovebox sticker? Thanks. As for wheels I vote for polished aluminum slots..they look nice on these trucks.
