March upgrades

When I removed the mid 80's 305 from my truck and replaced it with the 383 stroker...I ran into one issue after another with the brackets and pulleys for the accessories. I finally decided since I'd be keeping this motor for another project anyway, I might as well spend some money on it to replace the metric and mismatched crap with SAE stuff. I looked and looked...and decided to solve the problem with March brackets and pulleys. Its the sbc performance serpentine conversion setup they sell in the custom finish. I figured I didn't need polished...the silver powdercoat was flashy enough.

now I wish the motor was detailed. oh well......here's pics:

brackets and pulleys installed minus w/p pulley.

install complete. uses 6 rib crank/alt/wp pulley and 5 rib ps pulley. shroud comes back so far they're kind of hard to see.

slowly but surely its getting there. hopefully fairly soon I'll be bringing my other chassis home and starting the real build.

Re: March upgrades

Thanks all!

The March kit is the silver powdercoat one and part #22021-09 (only $340 at Summit). Belts I got from O'Rielly were Gates, K050335 ($17) for the p/s and K060410 ($22) for the w/p and alt...though a K060415 might have gone on a little easier.

I went with the silver because it was about $100 less and I figured if I ever decide to make that motor a show piece, I can polish the powdercoat off then if necessary have the brackets and pulleys clear powdercoated.

BTW...looks a little different now. That alternator decided to die when I hit my driving lights tonight so I had to replace it.
