Re: aftermarket beds?

in parts yes. pre-assembled no. you can get any part you want for your bed short, long, fleet, or step. there are even a few who even make steel floors allthough i think there sold only in half's. be prepared to shell out about $1500 for a complete bed.

Actually, it has been a while since I looked at new stuff, but I don't ever remember a 8 foot bed side being done.... nor steel floors, only wood.

Re: aftermarket beds?

I bought a complete new bed and was'nt very happy with the tailgate fit.
had to drill the spotwelds at both rear stake hole posts and reposition the sides and top bed rail angle, then reweld and body work everything. It looks better but did not expect the work out of new parts. Seems quality control at manufacturer could be better.

Andy, in one of those trucks magazines there was a guy that makes custom order beds to your specs, if you want a 9 foot step bed, he willl make it, anything you can think of he can do it, I'll see if I can take a good pic of the article as I don't have a scanner.

Re: aftermarket beds?

Your best bet is to check out the parts boards for a complete bed. Like a few mentioned I had not seen long bead parst new, but plenty of short bed components. I have not seen the metal fleet beds repopped though. You are pretty much stuck with wood in that case.
