Nice suprise on a freebie

-
A guy gave me a pickup box trailer frame a while back so I went and picked it up today. He said it was made out of a late 60’s, early 70’s pickup frame. I found a pleasant surprise while cleaning it up looking for a ratio code. The axle code verifies it. THT = 1971 3.07 PosiTrac. Yeah, Im happy….

That is good. With positive traction your trailer is less likely to get stuck up.

Are you going to remove and save that axle?

Yes, I can tow it through deeper snow with no worries....

Yes, I have a frame that needs a leaf spring rear axle assembly.

Re: Nice suprise on a freebie

One man's junk really is another man's treasure.

Most of the wood I used to build those crates for the member in Canada was stuff that I salvaged, mostly from someone's left over home builds.

The aluminum for the washer pump bracket came from an old tossed sign and from part of a TV base someone had thrown in a dumpster.

You did indeed luck up if you can use those things. A 3.07 wouldn't be much good for where I live (hills, hills, and more hills) but for a flatlander, it's just the thing. Congrats again.
