fan blade......a/c truck question??
ok guys did a a/c 71-72 pickup with a 350 have a 6 or 7 blade radiator fan blade, what was the size 17" or 18" or? Reason i ask its i got a flex a lite fan and i'd rather go back to a clutch style one. I'm in the market for one as well as who makes a good clutch i need one of those too. I need answers as soon as possible so i can get it back up and rolling down the road properly. So if some one has a blade for sale shoot me a couple pics and price and also where to get/buy a good clutch for it too. Thanks guys ............

AC trucks had 7 blades, non AC were 5. They are both 18". Aftermarket fans are 6 (to cover both apps?)

Re: fan blade......a/c truck question??
Here's a link to a recent want to buy thread that says you want a 7 blade clutch fan. However, my 69 3/4 ton with 350 and factory A /C has had a 5 blade clutch fan since new. It sounds like the later years with A/C may have switched to 7 blade fans. I never had an overheat problem with the 5 blade, and I carried a 2800# cabover camper in southern California and the desert southwest and later pulled a 2000# boat behind the camper in the midwest. However, I did add an external trans cooler with the boat.

My '72 with factory A/C has a 7-blade 18" clutch fan.

Torqflo from Autozone makes a good clutch or AC-Delco if you can still get one.

I have used Hayden from Advance in the past, but much prefer Delco if available.
