What diff size to go with 6.0 4l80E?

Trying to determine what diff gears to put in. Now I have the old original 3.08 but I will be going to limited slip and not sure whether 3.73 or 4.10 would be better. At this time I have about a 28.5" tall tire but looking to go a little bigger to about a 31" tire in the future. Any opinions or what is every one else doing with this combo.

Thanks!

I guess it depends on what you will be doing with your truck. You may want to give a little more info so that you receive a better answer.

Those are both the "fan favorite" diff ratio's on these swaps. I like the road manners that the 3:73 offers up, since you can run ~70 at just over 2k (each truck is a little different of course).

The 4.10 is a little more popular for the M6 guys, but you can still totally run it if your truck spends more time at the track or isn't doing long stretches of 70+ highway. I'll tell you what though....with the overdrive trans, either option feels WORLDS better than the old 3spds.

I dropped a 3.73 in my 02 Silverado, awesome combo....it let that little 4.8 run! My longhorn is a tick different animal....stick shift, 6 spd ROD behind the 5.3. On a 29" tire, 3.42 gears....I have all the gear that I need! She will cruise @ 105 mph, @ 3100-3150 on the tach Once again, it depends on you useage....longhorn

Thumbs up Re: What diff size to go with 6.0 4l80E?

Well my 4:10 gears and 4L80E run at 2600RPM's at 80MPH! My truck runs the interstates all the time ever since I bught it back in 1986. I just did a round trip to my dad's 280 miles today.

Get out and drive the truck this summer and have some fun!
It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

My burb has a 6.0 with 4L80E and 3.73 gearing. Very happy with the combination.
