axle gears

I want to change my rear gearing. What would be cheaper and/or easier to do,swap the rear end. Or just the gears?

It would be alot easier to switch the whole rear axle. You could proably pick up a complete axle for about $200 at a salvage yard. The gears for your rear axle would be about $200, $100 for the installation kit, and then you would have to pay a pro to set it up, which could cost anywhere from $200 up.

While I agree with yellow's opinion...just remember, the rear you'll be buying from a junk yard may have anywhere from 100,000 miles, to 1/2 million.
(mine has a reported 500,000 miles and the rear gears are said to be original)
