Video: Ending my build and moving onto a '31 Ford Tudor

Hey all, working on selling "Will" my 1949 Chevy truck. My daughter and I grabbed her GoPro and I shot my first video ever...thought I'd share it with you all as an homage to the build and hopefully an inspiration to you all! Let me know what you think.

My next project is panning out to be a 31 Ford Tudor. Found this gem at a car show and have been researching ever since...

Haha, yes first video. Maybe I've watched too many build videos on YouTube and knew what to shoot?

Definitely will post in the alternate. That's the worst part about moving to a different project is all you fine people that helped me along the way.

Great Video. What price you selling the truck for?

You should just keep the 3100 and add the tudor to the stable!

I'm thinking that he is like my old buddy JD Fikes in Waco Tx in that it about the build and as soon as it gets that close to finished and he can drive it he loses interest. I lost track of how many JD did and sold not long after he could drive them.

On the other hand I see a running and driving truck that someone else can buy for what should be a reasonable price while allowing him to come out ok on it and finish it off as their own truck to what ever level they want. That is a big plus to a lot of guys who may not be able to build one from the ground up for whatever reason. It is also what you see is what you get in that there is nothing hiding under a fresh coat of primer. To me that is a plus no matter if you are a patina fan or will drive it directly to the paint and body shop. Probably the best thing the patina fad has done and that is get these guys to quit slapping a quick coat of primer over lots of body filler or a quick and somewhat nasty paint job on it to get more money out of it.

Not a fad of that style of Model A or early car build as I prefer the timeless look of a traditional hot rod rather than the escaped from the circle track look that seems to be something of a fad now.

77 C 30 dualie, 454, 4 speed with a 10 foot flatbed and hoist. It does the heavy work and hauls the projects around.

Hoping for around $14,000. I'm not looking to make any profit as the experience was awesome. I did my best to keep my costs down with buying, selling, swapping, so I'll about break even at that mark. A little less, I'm ok with.

You're spot on. As soon as I was done with my "goals" I lost interest in the next step of stripping the whole truck down a second time to sandblast, prime, and paint. I'll let someone else with the excitement of a new truck to do that. As with parts, since I didn't try and cheap out, there are some nice brand new mechanical parts all through the truck. While it looks like a beater, the mechanical and electrical are pretty solid.

Probably would if I could, but the two big items that made me sell:

1. I need funds for the Model A and don't want to wait to buy some parts until I have saved enough. My days of that are done I started the truck with about $2000 and ended up spending $10,000. Now I'm starting a build with $10,000...so much nicer!

2. The wife (boss) will only let me take up one garage space with junk.
