Re: sanding delima
I think that’s a great idea I will have to try the plexiglass but seems like it would be hard to hold onto

Re: sanding delima
Use tape in a "T" shape for a handle on the back side, Gorilla tape works very well. It lets the blocks flex while giving you something to hold the block with.
Here are a few I've made, I have multiples of the same size blocks in different thicknesses. The angled-end block is helpful around raised fenderwell openings or similar stampings. I use smaller and thinner blocks without tape for wetsanding clear. The hard surface cuts the orange peel out very effectively but they're still flexible enough to sand curved areas. The edges are rounded over so they can't dig in.

Re: sanding delima
I bought a set of wet sanding blocks from these guys a couple years ago before they started selling full blocks sets. The do the best bodywork I've ever seen, and they use and promote acrylic/plexiglass blocks. After trying them on clear I started making my own from leftover pieces we already had at the shop. Definitely check out the "learn" tab on their site, its full of really great info on bodywork.

Re: sanding delima
I’m done dry sanding, too much dust to clean before painting in the garage!

Re: sanding delima
Whether I am sanding bondo, Hi Build primers, Or finish paint I block everything. have always used a hard sanding block To make sure I remove all the orange peel have never understood why people use a soft block when color sanding as it just follows the orange peel. I’m in my 70s and I learn something new every day really appreciate the tip
I went on their website boy their proud of them puppies I can see why you make your own AKA THE HACK
