Ok, I got to ask. Maybe its just ignorance but what is that thing? I know it has something to do with vacuum, but I have never seen one.

Air compressor for air shocks, pretty big back in the 70s and 80s, you could adjust your rear shocks from the drivers seat, I always had to stop at a gas station and pop my trunk to adjust mine.
