69 c10 with 292 mated to a 700R4 flex plate question

Guys I read most of the posts reference mating the 292 to the 700R4 and the flex plate issues, 168 vs 153 tooth etc.

My question may be a silly one but do I need to also use a flex plate "ring" on top of the plate before bolting it onto the crank?

Thanks
Goob

Never mind guys, had to use a 153 tooth flex plate to mate it. The reinforcement ring comes on some flex plates and not on others.

also looked at another thread reference this.
