The factory 4bbl Q-Jet. An Edelbrock 1406 is a nice aftermarket carb most wheelers use.

Has anyone used the Holley Truck Avenger carb? Magazine reviews rate it very good for offroading etc. Would be interested to know how it works in real life.

Carter AFB... AKA Edelbrock 1406. Good carb, easy to work on for sure.

I'm using an edelbrock 750 CFM QJet #1401 with the stock engine on my 71 CST outfitted with hedman headers and an edelbrock performer intake. Performs great, but boy does it eat gas. The POS's installation of a 14 gallon gas tank doesn't make it any better. If I were to do it again, I'd go to a 600-650 CFM.

Holley ProJection 2d Fuel Injection for the Fox. Hope to go 750 CFM Dominator this summer: Computers and toughness don't go hand in hand.

I've run a 650 Holley and a 670 Holley Truck Avenger on my SB....both ran great. The 670 TA did give me more consistent performance on really rough trails and on high angle manuevers. I was pretty much sold on it...to the point that I'm installing one on the BB that I'm swapping into my blazer.
