Headlights don't work! Help!

IT NEVER FAILS! Take you classic truck to get inspected and the lights don't work.

All of my lights inside and out of my 65 c10 work just fine except the headlights. The lights will not come on when you pull the switch. I thought the bulbs were bad but when I push the dimmer in the floorboard, they come on. SO low beams are not working. I'm not an electrician so please help me trouble shoot this so I can get this thing inspected. Thanks in advance.

Re: Headlights don't work! Help!

How can I test it before confirming it is indeed the dimmer switch? Thanks

Pull the dimmer switch and test it. Although they are pretty cheap to buy if you just replace it and try.

Just noticed my 66 C20 is doing the exact same thing. Dimmer switch seems like the most likely culprit.

To add to the suggestion.... Testing can simply be pulling/disconnecting the dimmer switch out of line & jumper the connections to see if the headlights come on.

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.
