Thumbs down How long should I wait before getting annoyed

I'm going to keep the vendor to myself for now.
I ordered wilwood D52 calipers, 8 lug slotted/drilled rotors, brake booster and m/c, and braided brake lines.

I ordered by phone and paid with CC. Even paid a 3% additional fee to use my AMEX which I'm sure is against the AMEX terms of service for a company. (i accept amex as well)

I was told I'd get an email invoice confirmation and a follow up call to verify i got the confirmation. Hey great that sounds good. they care that communication is happening.

I didnt get the email. I did get the followup call. it went to my VM. I called back and that girl was out but somebody was supposed to follow up the next day. after a week I called back and said I just wanted an order status. some kind of ETA on the parts.
The guy said calipers were just ordered and he want sure on the rest of the stuff but would email me.

I waited another week with no response so I called back and talked to the owner (he answered, i didnt harrass).

Said the calipers just got in and they were shipping tomorrow.

Then the stunner "the other stuff comes straight from CPP and we dont have an eta."
Hmm so I asked well a week, a month, a year?
he laughed and said its CPP might be 20 years. They dont get orders out very fast.

so a few days later my calipers showed up.

3 weeks from order date and i still dont have the rest of my stuff.

If I had known the vendor doesnt stock or have any idea or control over most of the items I would have probably looked elsewhere. But I got beat over the head here for not using board sponsers so I went with this one this time.

The guys seem nice enough and I realize its not really in their hands at this point, but I'm starting to get annoyed and want my stuff.

when would you start harrassing somebody?

By the time you waited the 3 weeks you could have driven to CPP they are in fulerton off the 57fwy and had them put on and driving for 2 weeks.

Re: How long should I wait before getting annoyed

the guy you ordered from is making a profit on those items so he should be harassing cpp for you to find out where your stuff is. i also try not to buy anything that is not stocked by the vendor.

Re: How long should I wait before getting annoyed

yea like I said. Nobody told me they were CPP parts when I bought them. And they cetainly didnt say these are special orders. And they didnt warn me they are coming from a vendor that cant deliver in a reasonable timeframe.

On the one hand the CPP stuff will probably be better than the chinese pot metal I was half expecting... The main part of my order was the wilwoods. Rotors/brake boosters dont have any pretty labels on them so I didnt even ask who makes them. I wasnt able to find slotted/drilled 8-lugs on any other websites that I knew for sure would fit. These guys are supposed to know that stuff so I just trusted it would work. Probably will, when it gets here.

Re: How long should I wait before getting annoyed

Cancel your remaining order and find another vendor. 3 weeks no explanation is ridiculous.

Re: How long should I wait before getting annoyed

I can totally relate to your frustration! I would try to stay proffesional about the slow delivery and lack of support from the vendor. Ask for the CPP contact info if your vendor wont do his job so you can do it for them. Just to make you feel better about this I have been waiting for 88 days to get my 8 lug steel wheels from Vintique wheels that I ordered from Summitt Racing. Vintque told the last 4 customer service reps for the last 4 weeks the same lie "the powder coating was bad and they had to send them back for recoating". So just like you the person who you ordered the parts from is really at the mercy of the actual supplier. But in your case it sounds by his reply he knew this would be the case. I guess it helps when you vent about the bad service but... at this point what can you really do about it...You are not alone! Hey now I feel better!

Re: How long should I wait before getting annoyed

I woke up this AM to an email from the vendor with a refund for the parts I havent gotten yet. They found this thread and jumped on it.
Talked to him on the phone just now and no hard feelings either way.
