Generic Dynamat
Is there a generic form of Dynamat that sticks on? I looked at Home Depot and they dont sell anything like it. Im on an extremely tight budget and need something for the floors in my Suburban. Im going to use 1/2" Insulfoam for the roof inside then I can have a one piece headliner made eventually.
Thanks |

Re: Generic Dynamat
Something like this?
https://www.lowes.com/pd/Peel-Seal-I...ashing/1018733 We used it on a couple of trucks. Not quite as effective as dynamat, but a big improvement over nothing at all.

My plan is to use this stuff, unless something better comes along:

Use this type of product..... Home Depot / Lowes
https://www.google.com/search?tbm=is...=1513872681636
Got this tip from a retired recording engineer on a BMW forum I used to belong to. Originally sold as "Roof Flashing Tape" it is now also marketed for Window and door use. I've seen it with all manner of different backing materials (Foil, paper, tyvek....) if you are into the "look" in addition to the function. Basically it's a thick tape (Like undercarriage coating material) with a release file on both sides. You peel the release film from one side and stick it in place. Cuts easily with a box cutter and will conform to uneven surfaces. I bought some when replacing the windows in my house and used the left-over in the doors of one of my older cars. Works well. -Steve

This stuff is butyl based not asphalt based like all the knockoff brands. Remember this is only to stop the resonance. You need CCL and MLV to block the noise.
