Transfer case brace?

Can someone educate me on these braces? I've never personally seen one.

I think some of them went to a bellhousing bolt, and others went to the engine mount. Why one vs. the other? When did the change take place?

How necessary is the brace? Was it ever installed on manual trans trucks? Did the '89-'91 np241c Blazers and Suburbans use this brace?

Re: Transfer case brace?

The 79 K10 I used to own had some sort of brace setup like that. It was a 350/350/203 setup. The braces made dropping the oil pan a major pain in the rear.

Re: Transfer case brace?

The 89 blazer I parted out had a 700/241 with a brace. I still have the case and brace. Will try to remember to get a picture in the morning
