Some progress putting it back together

Just a couple of photos of the Blazer as I put it back together after its return from paint (finally able to work on it).

This is what the engine compartment looked like when I bought it:

This is how it looks so far:

Re: Some progress puuting it back together

Not sure what "puuting" means except that I ought to proofread to see what my fingers are doing. Sorry - can't fix the title.

Re: Some progress puuting it back together

Exceptionally well done, looks showroom. I guess you have all the models covered. How long have you been restoring trucks....got snow?

Did you buy that speaker bracket?

Could we get more pics.......

Re: Some progress puuting it back together

Thanks much. I still need a Longhorn (had one I wish I had never sold years ago) but my wife would kill me. I have always had a toy car but got back into trucks about about 10 years ago. Did a 66 C10, then the 70 SWB 4X4, then bought the Burb (I've only done drive line and interior work on that, and now the Blazer. We (the wife and I) used to do a lot of motorcycle riding on the weekends so the trucks didn't get exercised too much. She has MS and can still get up on the back of the Electraglide, but once we get some place, can only walk a short distance with her cane. Last summer, I took the short bed to a few shows and cruises as I could put her electric scooter in the back which made her mobile. So, I'll probably continue to do that a little more. If I go, I want her to go too.
I'll post some additional photos. I have an album on photobucket - search 53chriscraft and you should find my profile and albums. Yes, I did buy the speaker/bracket. When I posted the WTB, I never expected to get a response. When you visit your son, we'll have to meet. Rick

Re: Some progress puuting it back together

Looks great!! Nice attention to detail. I love a super clean engine bay. It's unfortunate you didn't decide to keep the redneck open air cleaner though

Got any more pics?

YBNORML - I was told that the open air cleaner was part of the special corvette option available on only a select few Blazers :0

Re: Some progress puuting it back together

Nice job. I love a factory original or factory stock restoration and yours looks great! You'll never be sorry for the effort and it will hold it's value far better. A lot of folks don't realize how much more difficult it is to go that route too.... Well done!

Re: Some progress puuting it back together

Thanks 71RestoRod, I appreciate it.
tubbedII - Thanks - yes the upper radiator hose on a 4X4 utilized that metal pipe. That and just about everything else that was supposed to be under the hood was missing. Thanks to this board and many vendors I have been able to find most everything.

Wow! everything looks good! Is that a new booster/master set you have there? I know some can clean up pretty good but man that looks new.

Re: Some progress puuting it back together

Thanks OC 72 and LakeAnna
No not new. They are what were in the 1st picture. Just disassembled and painted. The sticker on the top of the driver's side inner fender is the original sticker. It cleaned up well and is very legible. Masked it off so when it was sent out and painted I didn't lose it. Did the same thing with the SPID.

Re: Some progress puuting it back together

Looks good, don't forget to run that bracket that holds on the vacuum pod on the side of the a/c housing. It is 4x4 specific if you are going stock which it appears to be. Trevor
