Re: What did everyone get done this weekend?

YES IT IS. I bought it in IDAHO 3 years back and i must admit i dont know much about carbs but i've been fiddling with it to the point it drives but not that well. i would think that the elevation diff certainly would matter but how to correct i do not know. Hopefully Mark can help me.

Re: What did everyone get done this weekend?

i went to the indy speedway museum and track tour, i got to go all of 30mph on one of the fastest tracks im america!!!!!!!

i have never seen such a wide varitey of motors in my life. every thing from a 4cyl 938cui 100hp 1918 crank start to a 16cyl 1.8L with 49mm stroke, oh yeah it made 790-810hp :yikes:. a turbine drive side motor, where you sit 6" from a jet engine and a 315" 6cyl sprint car.

Put a wiper switch and a gas pedal in my middle kid's '67. Finally put the Pertronix kit in my youngest's '71.

Re: What did everyone get done this weekend?

I tuned up my truck.

Set the RPMs to 600...got it setting at 5 DBTDC. Runs a whole lot smoother now. Going to install HEI dizzy this coming week. Should be a decent daily driver then.

Also...installed the new washer pump, new tubing and ran the wires to the cab...connecting them tomorrow because I am going to drop my gage bezel to get to the wires I need. I did not do it saturday as I wanted to buy a bunch of 194 bulbs so I can replace them all in the dash...I have a few out...and since it will opened up...might as well replace them.

Hey Tim(cos)

Did you buy the whole washer kit and if so which place did you get it from? I'm looking at the kit on LMC, was it an easy install? I have to do the same.

Re: What did everyone get done this weekend?

I did it a little more manual....I am working on a FAQ...but here is what I did thus far...finishing it up tomorrow.

I am down to the "Run them into the cab." step

Universal pump (Checkers) 19.99, new tubing (Checkers) 4.99, some tape and connectors - a few cents.

Some Christmas music makes the whole job more pleasant as well.

The universal pump comes with some little goodies like a tee, connectors etc. I am using goodies from my "professional" wiring kit...I will take pics etc.

1. New circuit for water flow
a. Install pump to fender ahead of the reservoir or your own chosen location.
b. Attach tubing from reservoir to suction on pump.
c. Cut old tubing at firewall.
d. Extend back the squirter tubing in your hand and cut to equal length (long enough to meet in the middle.) Be careful to not tug too hard and pull them off the squirters.
e. Attach squirter tubing to new T (comes with universal pump) and attached new hose (6 ft – 4.99 at checkers) to third leg of the new T.
f. Run new tubing down the guide to the side of the truck and forward. Attach it to the output of the pump
2. New electrical circuit so your pump will pump when you depress the stock switch.
a. Attach two wires to pump wire with approved electrical connection procedures.
i. I used 6 feet each of 18 gage yellow (power) and dark blue (ground)
b. Run them into the cab
c. Remove gage panel.
i. http://www.67-72chevytrucks.com/vboa...d.php?t=164357
d. Tap onto the YELLOW wire at the wiper motor. It is switched already.
i. Use Yellow wire running to the cab for connection.
e. Tap into the dark blue (ground) wire from under the dash at the new motor.
i. Use Dark Blue wire running to the cab for connection.
3. Reassemble everything you disassembled.

Re: What did everyone get done this weekend?

I finally finished my )(*&#*$+)_(%)(&#$ cam swap :-D. I tore my bicep tendon pulling the truck into the garage 8/6 to do the swap, and I'm just getting back in the game enough to do real work. It's kind of a nice reminder that I'm getting better

Re: What did everyone get done this weekend?

I hit the yards on Saturday, scored a van tilt ($25) and a rust-free pass inner fender ($10) Then on Sunday I scored a shorty 67 rolling rusty shell & frame project for 200 bones. Broke but happy!

Lost my voice at the NDSU/SDSU football game. Our (NDSU's) 12th man definitely helped the win.

Fantasied about being with my truck tomorrow afternoon, it's been months. I have to remember not to cry on the paint job.

Re: What did everyone get done this weekend?

I got my air gauges mounted and started to mount my switch box. When I pulled up the rubber mat to run the wires, I got side tracked by 37 years of dirt and grime. I spent way too much time trying to clean up the drivers side and ran out of daylight.

Today was solid rain and the forcast is rain until Friday. All my wires are there, I just need to trim and tie everything, then fire up the compressor and see if my air lines are as leak-proof as I hope.

If next weekend sucks less, I might have my truck on it's own wheels and under it's own power again. I will post som pics for sure too.

Re: What did everyone get done this weekend?

This was my weekend off and I got a lot done. The weather was awesome so I took advantage of it. Friday night I took the family to dinner so I could have that weekend obligation fulfilled. Saturday I went and toured our new Church building then picked up my 04 Dodge at the body shop. I had the front bumper cap and mirrors repainted and the whole truck buffed out. Then I went and had the Snuglid put back on. It had been shipped back to Snugtop because of defective paint. They did an awesome job of making it look like a new one.

Saturday night I took the wife out to dinner then in the 77 then we went to the local car s cruise. This was the last night for the season so the turn out was huge. They set an all time record with a fitting number of 427 cars and trucks.

Sunday after church I started detailing my Dodge to get it ready to sell. Then I spent some time cleaning up my 06 Crewcab. The whole while I was making plans for what I want to do to the 77 over the winter....

Re: What did everyone get done this weekend?

Well I figured out the Suburban needs all new brake hoses, gonna take awhile before I can afford 'em. Tomorrow I plan on getting the '69 grille and bumper on the truck.

Re: What did everyone get done this weekend?

Saturday I repaired the linkage on my choke so I was able to hook up the cable. It sure is nice to have the truck run on it's own when the engine is cold. Also got a 81 chevy van for free. It has a fresh rebuilt tranny with tilt column and power steering pump, just got to get it home. Yesterday I put in a different seat, that I had scored for free and I got my mig welder all ready to go. Things are starting to look up.

Re: What did everyone get done this weekend?

Started updating the GSA truck I brought home last weekend, rebuilding the 2 barrel (yeah I know why not a 4 barrel) but I need it to run so I can see if the motor is OK or not. Drained the many year old gas and put fresh in it, and scoped out one of my HEI to put in it, Then drive it!! I can't wait to make smoke come forth from the tires and 4.11's!!! Oh Yeah, I popped the rear cover to ensure 4.11's and they are there!! Put it back together with a new gasket and royal purple gear lube, almost ready, I hope the neighbors are!! I have a 5 day weekend for turkey day coming, so the 69ish GMC I hauled home for free will be stripped over the week long weekend and hopefully the 68 Short Fleet 3/4ton 4X4 will be near road ready at weeks end!!
