What did you get done? 3/18/07

I didnt even look at the 71 4x4.Rising scrap prices bought me out and I started cutting up all the parts trucks I have after saving the good parts. This week the parts trucks are being taken to the scrapyard. What about the rest of y'all?

Cleaned up the garage a little, got the parts I wanted to keep off of my parts truck, and started installing my stainless brake lines.

Didn't do any work on the truck, But I bought a new 4HP 60 Gal. compressor, D/A, and gravity feed spray gun. Should be starting the body work next week. Oh, and a new lawn mower - had to cut the grass.

Daughter's B-day (5); she's a St. Patrick's Day girl so we celebrated. No work this weekend.

Bought a pair of NOS 72 Texas truck plates. Bought a tailgate from STP 67-72. Nice score of both of them I do say.

Re: What did you get done? 3/18/07

I got some vinyl and started to go crazy on custom door panels (not very custom) and such. Started my stereo install to try to cover the POs butchery. Finished nothing thanks to a migrane headache mid-day today.

Re: What did you get done? 3/18/07

What I did: Put in a new distributor cap, ordered stuff to keep UPS in business.
Celebrated oldest daughter's 11th birthday. Here's to yours, too, Sonny!

What Livrat did: Removed my shaved doors and put on my originals that have handles I tried to pay him off with coffee, doughnuts, the old doors, etc., but he would have none of it. While he was at it he put in my new key cylinder and identified that my 305 came out of a '78 Monte Carlo. Genius!

This board rocks!!

Played in the house today. Moved a light switch, receptacle and a phone line to a wall that I built today. Started tearing the other wall down.

didnt do anything to the 72 chevy, except haul the parts to a storage area.

Got the 72 gmc temp. motor in and up and running, no it's all mine, traded my old daily driver for it.

I will get a thread with pics going tomorrow, it's to dark to take pictures at this time.

I have sisters now.

Betty - 1972 chevy c-10 (future show truck in restoration)
Betsy - 1972 GMC super custom ( daily driver)

Re: What did you get done? 3/18/07

Didn't do anythng on the 71 this weekend.

My son stopped by today and we talked about old trucks for a while.

Went over to my brother's and helped him install brake pads, a new axle seal on the front differential and bleed the front brakes on his 98 Chevy 4X4.

Other than that I was getting stuff together for our trip down to Fort Smith, Arkansas next weekend to visit some friend.

Spent the weekend in shorts and flip flops. 80 degrees, light breeze, had to put on a shirt after 8 pm though. Gotta love CA weather!

But I did sell my parts truck and started sanding my new to me bed. Now I just need to find a way to dispose of my old bed...

Picked up my powder coated Rally Wheels. Polished the trim rings and caps. Got a new set of BFG's and Lug Nuts. Still need to get SS bolts for the caps(last owner painted orange). Then I put a few miles on them.

Wow, I'm sorry for all you snow guys. IT's been nothing but beautiful, 75 degree sunshine here in North California. I got my motor running, which now has aluminum intake and a 700R4. Not finished, but nearly there

finally finished my led brake lights!!! and yes i know, i accidentally blew a couple lines in the pass side and one line in the driver's side. This pair set the learning curve Believe me they are much brighter in person.
