Looking to use just the door to cover the heater control area. In your opinion, will this one work or will I need to use the entire tray. Was told this idea will work with no fab work.

Really never checked but I think they are the same. I have a GMC cab i'll take a look in about an hour

They are the same size but the ash tray side has lip so it doesn't fall in also there's another piece in the back of the dash that holds the ash tray in place. see pics
