USB Ports in place of lighter socket

I want to replace my lighter socket with USB port(s). Has anyone successfully purchased a USB replacement for the lighter socket that is small enough to fit in the metal dash opening without modification?

You can buy a flush mount, dual port, socket insert that goes into the lighter socket on Amazon for just a few bucks.

Re: USB Ports in place of lighter socket

Got one from eBay, the brand is Retro sound. It was cheaper buying it there. I have it connected to my after market radio, I use it to play music from my iPhone and charge it at the same time.

Shouldn't you be getting your new engine installed instead of working on dumb stuff like a USB port in a 50yr old truck? LOL!

Just stick one of these in there and call it good.

This is in a 60, not my 70. The 60 doesn't have a existing lighter socket.

I found it. Would work great on my 70 with the usb and aux jack on the rear of the stereo. But this is for a 60 that has no radio yet.

Re: USB Ports in place of lighter socket

There’s one that has a small triangle so that you can mount it on the bottom of dash. It’s a small black triangle. Go to the official retro sound website so you can see what I’m talking about.
