Thanks Scott, I was happy with them. After they wet sand the clear and buff them they should look like glass. Both these guys do great work and they love Hot Rods. They have full time jobs at the collision shop and do side jobs like mine in the evenings and Saturdays.

Re: Jason's 70 Big Block SWB Project

Should have the bed all together next weekend, I ordered a polished stainless steel bolt kit for the bed. I think that will pop with all the black paint. Maybe order a 4/6 ECE drop tomorrow before I leave for work so I can get the suspension finished up. I'm still trying to make up my mind on wheels, I need to pull the trigger on them also. I look at all the nice trucks here on the forum and the wheel decision gets confusing.

There are a lot of wheel types to choose from, plus the wait time is rough sometimes.

Thanks Keith, I watched you buy and sell your wheels on your build. I was thinking you would maybe pass me down a set. LOL

I've been looking at wheels since I bought the truck, that's been 2 1/2 years now. I had a set of 15" Torq Thrust on it but after seeing trucks with 20's I new that's what I wanted.

Re: Jason's 70 Big Block SWB Project

The 4/6 drop will look cool. I was looking on craigslist to see if there was any 4/6 drop setups and I found one. The guy was asking retail for it though. It had a drop center crossmember and trailing arms too.
Its for a 1966, not sure if that works for our trucks too but I think it does.

Scott, you teasing me with those Daytonas. I like them but I don't want to run 22's in the back. Tommy definitely runs some killer deals though. I need to order a set of Fesler tail lights from him soon.

Re: Jason's 70 Big Block SWB Project

I have to leave for work tomorrow so it will probably weekend after next before I get it put on. I'm getting anxious myself! I would like to have a new set of wheels on it before I bring it back home but not sure if I can swing it right now $$$$. At least I can drive it on and off the trailer now.

Re: Jason's 70 Big Block SWB Project

Hey man .. let me ask you a question?

Walk into a <wherever> with your friends, out just being guys and this smokin hot girl catches your eye from across the room. She has a shiney black dress on (your paint) .. I mean just incredible looking woman.

She gets up and walks toward you.. you notice she has old dirty Converse hightops on.

See how quickly the overall impression can change ??

I say run your TT2's until you can get what you really really want.. (in no way relating TT2's to old dirty Converse)

Billet Specialties Highboy look SICK on a black truck and they're not too bad $ wise. Yeah, they're expensive .. but not as bad as some.

http://www.billetspecialties.com/whe...lection/hiboy/

Billets would set this truck into another stratosphere. More investment up front yes, but the overall impression and/or value of the truck IMO would offset. It's all about the look my brotha. Wheels can make or break it.

Re: Jason's 70 Big Block SWB Project

Chad, that is a very good point, but, my truck don't even have "dirty converse high tops" on. I sold the TT's last winter to a board member. Check out some of my pics in the build and you will laugh your butt off. The old steelies won't even hold air there so pitted. Here's a picture. (Even have winter treads on the back)

"Post 123" it's not together yet. We just got everything finished Saturday. Hopefully I will have some pics next weekend of it all together. I've already had it together to test fit everything before paint. I'm still laughing about the Converse high tops.

Re: Jason's 70 Big Block SWB Project

Since my truck is black and the interior will be black I still wanted a little contrast. I got to thinkin about everything being shiny, then another idea came about. The dash pad and the buddy buckets are kind of a matte black so I stripped the paint from my original door panels and painted them with black paint and a satin clear. Just a little busy work until I bring the ole girl back home in a few weeks....

Thanks Keith, they actually look better in person, for some reason that picture has kind of a hazy look to it.
