Unhappy Blazer double wall Top (help)

Whats up people. I inspected my double wall top underneath where the bolts attaches to the bedside and found out that theres plenty of lug nuts where the bolts go missing. Does anyone out there know if those could be redone or fixed. Im very concerned about that cause how the hell would i bolt the top back to the Blazer the way it suppose to be without those welded lug nuts inside the top. Any good ideas would be appreciated.

Thanks, Luis.

Re: Blazer double wall Top (help)

Me personally, if you have a double wall AND interior panels, why even
bother with the side bolts, put you in some smaller threaded studs and
cover them with clear aquarium tubing, then they will function like dowl
pins, just the 2 visor mounts & the 2 rare braces is enough to keep it on
I mean come on, it's not like a t-top that's gonna blow away, my $.02

It's possible, but it's alot cheaper to try it than having a fiberglass top worked on

YUP, me too!!!!!!! Not that difficult, chances are the top needs repair anyway. I'm almost done refurbishing my liftgate. It'll be a few more weeks before it's back on, I'll post some pics then. I had quite a bit of damage/cracks etc on the top and liftgate so it's taken me several months to do, couple hrs here couple hrs there, but I'm almost done. Just wanted to fix the big problems so I can have my top on for the rust repair, but I got carried away, I hate doing things twice.

Re: Blazer double wall Top (help)

Everglass is a brand of short strand reinforced body filler.. I cut out the nut plates out, re-positioned them and gooped the Everglass on to hold them in place. I then did the rest of the bodywork on that edge..
