Intake manifold gasket

I installed an edelbrock intake manifold 4 months ago and for some reason it was leaking. I discovered the bolts loosened up somehow. It was parked for a month and now some of the spark plug may be fowled up, it missing. I bought some 12 point bolts so I can tighten un the hard to reach ones and I think i am going to use a little threadlock this time. I heard you can't use stock gaskets, is this true? What kind do you get? And yes i used black rtv on the ends Thank you

Re: Intake manifold gasket

I wouldn't use thread locker on the intake bolts, but do use some permatex thread sealant. this will help keep the oil from collecting in puddles on top of the intake. also, after installing a new intake, you should retorque the bolts after a couple warm up cool down cycles. bolts will usually loosen up after the engine has been hot/cold 2-3 times due to expansion/contraction of metals

Re: Intake manifold gasket

I already did it. all 12 bolts have a little theadloack on them. I used "ultra seal" gaskets
