Next step will probably be a body drop to get the rockers on the ground which should get this pig level
When it's aired out its kinda a bummer seeing it so close to the ground, but seems so far lol

Lovin' the build. Not a fan of the copper tubing. I highly recommend using steel tubing or DOT plastic air lines.

And it's something different
Dot fittings are mainly rated for big rigs otherwise its just a name basically
The copper is plenty strong for this application
The only dot hardware I have are the 1/4" lines ran from front to rear and thats to the gauges in the cab.
There's not enough going on to need brass fittings

I get most of my air line fittings a grainger and pay like $2-3 a piece
Never had a leak and they work great, even the cheap plastic check valve from the has worked for 2 years

My main reason for the copper tho is that you don't really see it to often.
The metal is just soft enough for push to connect fittings to work also

I capped mine. I just used this as a reference and improved upon his mistakes. Don't learn from ur mistakes... Let them screw up first lol!

Ya true dat!!
My biggest challenge is figuring a way out to do it with my daily driver
I have been doing everything in stages and planning it all out so I don't have to park it

I'm kinda thinking for the first step to lower all the body mounts first and make some risers to keep the body where it is
Then cut the frame and finish that.
I can modify the tranny hump too and raise it a couple inches
My main concern is the driveshaft, do you thing I will have to raise the tunnel for that?

In all honesty I jumped the gun and cut my tunnel before I test fitted and didn't even need to but we are talking two different cab styles... Idk I would suggest doing the vs then test before cutting may just make extra work. Plus I'm running a 305 v6 with four speed granny! With ur skills u should be able to do it in a weekend... All added up took about 24 hours +/-

My old side markers were all broken and cracked up, at least the lenses.
I finish peeling off the old red and clear lenses off and kept the bracket or backing of them
I painted the backing black and cut out the pattern of the back plate on metal I had laying around
I forget what it's called but it has a lot of holes in it lol
Once the were cut out I left them bare metal
They were supposed to rust lol

There is a reason you don't see copper tubing used in automotive. It isn't rated for use in automotive applications. It cracks when subjected to vibration. Its great for running a water line to an ice maker in your HOUSE! Granger sells products for commercial and residential applications, not automotive. DOT stands for Department of Transportation. Not Department of Big Rigs. Besides all that, the biggest reason not to use copper lines like you plan to is pressure. Typical air system used on these trucks operate in the 80-150psi range which copper is not rated. Pressure cycles combined with vibration and it will fail. Maybe not tomorrow or next week. But it will fail. Most likely at a connection point where it is poorley supported and vibration will cause a crack. Lets just hope it doesn't happen on the freeway at speed with other cars where you could kill sone inniocent person. And if it does happen and they find copper tubing (non DOT) tubing caused the deaths (and your insurance declines the claim cuz your truck didn't use approved,rated materials) you will end up in prison singing love songs to a guy named "Buba"

Not to contradict you but from my ten years in the heating and air field we use the exact same diameter copper and thickness for our units in which some vibrate like hell. And with the new r410a Puron it runs 450+ psi on that exact same tubing... So I'm not sayin but I'm jus sayin! Lol

ill take my chances, i had them on my s10 with no problems.

dot approved like i said is just a name. its like buying name brand appliances or clothing. looks the same and does the same.

my buddy owns the local fitting shop and knows his stuff so i go to him if i have any questions.

if there is a situation that you need you system inspected at a truck stop or weigh station they can check the labled fitting "dot"
if there is not dot you can be given a huge fine

but the ones not labeled dot are still made in the same factory on the same manufacture line

as for the copper is has alot of strucktural integrity.
there is no drastic bends in my air system to give this tubing the stress in rough or vibrating conditions, yes it my discolor when exposed to the elements but is still plenty strong
