Nice thing about customer service is that it generates more business.

Martin should be along later with more good news

Re: Martin's mi-STRESS, 1965 Long Fleetside C10 "Rebuild in ENGLAND"

Well just an update
Due to the rust on the bottom of my doors, there were a few options
Get new pattern doors or second hand, the trouble with this option is cost getting them shipped to the uk doubles the price . My only option was to get repair panels so onto the computer I went . Rock autos web site gives you the full cost including shipping and duty into the uk . So ordered them on Sunday £201.63 and they arrived Thursday very impressed

The bottom of my door

The new panels

The garage is getting full of parts so won't be long before I can start the strip down

Yes Don my garage is starting to look like a Chevy parts shop . My plan is to try and get as many parts as I can before I start the strip down . The trouble is I enjoy driving it so I want to minimise the time it's of the road

Just another update
The company over here in the Uk have sent me an update on my gas tank . After doing all my home work it worked out a lot cheaper getting one made here than having one shipped so here is a picture

Well....... What does $170.00 buy in England ?? (that is £100.00)

I think a lot of envy.......

Martin got a door for his truck today.

Re: Martin's mi-STRESS, 1965 Long Fleetside C10 "Rebuild in ENGLAND"

Well what a good weekend Saturday myself and Rian managed to get my gates that I purchased from eBay cut down and hung
The gates

Due to the size of the opening in the carport not being standard the gates had to be cut down

Once cut down the first gate was hung

Then the second one was hung

Rian then joined the two parts together he is better with wood than steel

Once joined the next stage was to make a frame to close off the top

All ready for next weekend to get the UPVC fitted to the top of the doors so as to enclose the carport so as to have a safe and secure place to work on the truck

The door isn't the only thing I got at the swap meet I also found a complete cab mounting kit for £30 about $50 . I also got a holly fuel pump with regulator as well as a fuel filter.

AAAAAHHHHH YES...... Your door.

I think I was sickened by the fact that you scored a great door for $167.00 when I was left with only £40.00 in my pocket.

Looking forward to going on a road trip with you next Saturday to deepest darkest Essex where people have 6 toes and webbed feet, while playing Banjo's in the shade of a tree to fetch your hood/bonnet you bought for your truck.

PS: The gates actually came out really good and once closed up at the top, were even better.

Now get the wood preserver paint and your finger out .

Well I got home from work to find a big package for me . Yes my tank has arrived so I opened the packing and this was inside

The two blue pipes on the top are a return and a breather that way it's ready for fuel injection later if required

Re: Martin's mi-STRESS, 1965 Long Fleetside C10 "Rebuild in ENGLAND"

Well Rian came over this morning to give me a hand to fit my bonnet (hood) to you guys
Taking the old one off we found one of the bolts was totally the wrong thread and just forced in . Hope this isn't a start of things to come . The strip down will start after the Easter holidays . Myself and Rian are going to take the trucks to a local show on Easter Sunday and Monday . That will be its last outing before I strip it down to the chassis and bolt all the new parts I have purchased through the winter . Now our clocks have gone foward and the weather is getting better it's light when I get home from work so work can start
Hood stripped off

I like this as my rottie is guarding the front as our other dogs come out to see what's going on

Hood all fitted

This is the wrong bolt used in the old hood
