My patina

I've had a couple people on here tell me to start up a thread on my truck. I thought there was one still floating out there but i realized that it was showing the finished truck....well kinda finished. Driveable and done for now...maybe. Anyways here's some info on it. It's obviously a 54 3100. It's on an s10 frame. I did almost all the work myself. Airbagged all around with dropped spindles and tubular upper and lower control arms. 4 Link in the rear with a 67 Camaro rear end. Was going to put a 327 in it but was worried I was gonna have to put a lot of money into the engine to get it on the road so when I came across a 350 for a good deal I jumped on it. 800 bucks and only thing I had to add was plugs starter and alternator. I guess that about wraps up the background.....Now onto the pictures!!!!

Re: My patina

Not exactly the safest way to do it but it worked while me and a buddy of mine tried to find the best spot to set the cab and double check the fitment of fenders and running boards

We used a spare fender from another project to help measure but then we went ahead and used the front clip from mine

Re: My patina

Ok. Cab's mounted. Now the engine. Used 3/8" flat stock so the engine could be moved back towards the firewall.

And my buddy made the transmission mounts using 2in C channel

Re: My patina

This shows the radiator. Believe it or not the hood is all the way open. For some odd reason I don't get much height out of the hood. Latches are working correctly and fenders are mounted in the same spot. You can tell cause of the rust line.

Re: My patina

Here's the truck now. The first two pictures is when I went to a cruise in which was about 2 1/2 hours away. The last two are from this past weekend when I went visit my fiance's parents about 2 hours away.

These next two are for sh!ts and giggles. They are of my buddy's truck. The guy who helped me on my build.

Re: My patina

Cool!!! I like the fact a guy can build a cool truck to go cruising in and not have to have get a second on his house for a high dollar paint job and yet still be driving somthing that can turn heads! Good Job!

I'm not a huge fan of lowering, but that aside this is the best P I have ever seen.

Re: My patina

Your truck has the best real patina I've ever seen. I showed my wife your truck and she asked how much was the paint job, and who done it. She was convinced it was a fake patina job, till she looked at the other pics. Very nice truck man.

Re: My patina

Great build iokua80, you have one sick truck!

What wheels are those? They kind of resemble a Foose style, but I can't quite tell.

Also, any interior pics?

Re: My patina

Thanks for the compliments. Yeah it's real patina. The funny thing is a year ago my buddy had somehow met the guy who owned my truck. He took a pic of it on his cell phone and forgot about it. I started looking for a project to do around the first of this year or towards the end of last year. Looked for about 2 months. Took my buddy with me on a couple of hunts but never found anything worthwhile. Then one night he remembered he had this pic on his phone. Sent it to me but said this was taken a year ago so I don't know if the guy still has it. Called the guy and was talking to him about it. He still had and one thing led to another and next thing I know me and my buddy went down to look at it. Still in the same condition as the pic. 1500 bucks later I was towing her home. Wasn't gonna start on it anytime soon. But then through a guy I work with I found a FREE s10 reg. cab long bad frame. Supposed to bring back the body once I stripped the frame. The guy went "out of town for a while and not sure when he'd be back" so I took the body to the scrap yard and made 175 bucks. And that's when it started..... I worked on it for a little under 5 months. A couple hours each night and almost all day Sat and Sun.

Re: My patina

The wheels are Foose Legends. 20x8.5. As for the interior.....it's pretty much stock with the exception of the air bag switches and the s10 pedals.

I need to get some updated pics with the seat in and rubber mat down. The gauges don't work with the exception of the gas and oil pressure. Figured I shouldn't be speeding too much so I didn't worry about the speedo.
