Gas tank questions

is a 1986 suburban gas tank same as 87-91 gas tank? I am trying to find a way to do the fuel system. I think the best wrought is to get a gas tank from an 87-91 'burb because it already came with a fuel pump? I would change to a 255lph of course. so will the sending unit out of a 87+ 'burb fit into my 86 fuel tank? Thanks In advance

Re: Gas tank questions

I am pretty sure they will physically interchange, but the 87-up tanks are baffled for fuel injection.

Re: Gas tank questions

Exactly, and if you're going to be running the pump in the tank, you need that.

Re: Gas tank questions

what If I were to fill the tank with that foam that keeps the gas from sloshing around? http://www.summitracing.com/parts/SUM-290190/
I could also build a baffle around the sending unit like the F-bodys?
