Thanks all for the concern.

Only myself involved and I walked out. My leg smacked the gauge bezel and it seems my elbow dented the door... but there was no pain or bruising. It happened maybe 5 months ago but I haven't had the heart to post it on here.

In September, I got this '69 SWB frame from 62LS1 (who I originally bought the truck from). It was in good shape other than the rear shock member which was pretty mangled.

I decided to make the switch to air suspension... nothing crazy but I did need to notch the frame. The frame was obviously flipped over for convenience. I've been working with Travis at AZ Pro Performance. He is awesome to work with and has helped a ton.

The notches are from Dead End Garage. Very stout and they include bag mounts and the panhard bracket.

I replaced the stock shock member with one from CPP. It required a little bit of extra cutting and drilling to make it work. I love hacking up new parts!

Not a whole lot of exciting things yet. We managed to roll the bent chassis out from underneath the cab/bed. I do not have pictures at this time.

No more low hanging exhaust! I found that Dead End Garage came out with these nice crossmember cutouts. They came with a template and use one of the preexisting holes. I ended up using a 4.25" hole saw... I was not sure if it would do the job, but I dropped the $50 for the saw and arbor and gave it a shot. Those had to be the most VIOLENT cuts I've ever made, but it worked like a charm and the saw is still in good shape. You can see in the first picture that I tacked a piece of metal to the crossmember in order to have a pilot hole. I then made a template which fit inside of the DEG template and marked the center point for drilling. I may go back and weld them in. Cleaned and painted hidden areas and torqued them down. Very happy with the results!

Well....this control arm is pretty janked I'd say. Also found out the original front crossmember is bent believe it or not, so I'm using the new-to-me one and it's donor LCA. I cleaned/painted hidden areas and bolted in the crossmember for good. Control arms are waiting their turn at powdercoating.

yes POWDER! The rest of the frame/suspension will get the same treatment.

...anyone want a bent frame?

I repainted the calipers and spindles as well as some new rotors. The front end should be ready for assembly when I get the control arms back. This will likely be hidden with my new wheel choice..... "but no one is going to see it" has never been a valid reason for me to not do something!

After looking at my original axle housing, I realized that...guess what? It's bent. At least the mounting flange is bent, so it can probably be fixed. Regardless, I'll be using the other rear end. It seems to be in better shape with no pitting, so it'll look better after PC. It even has a posi with 3.73 gears!!

Ordered some Moser Axles/seals and a Timken rebuild kit.

Scored this nice '68 front clip. Very happy to have original steel!! The core support isn't even rotted out under the battery.... but the fender is of course.
