I forgot to mention the filler neck. Sounds like it wasn't a big deal anyway.

My experience with this kind of sensor from aftermarket was similar... It was a BWD MAP sensor and it was Broke When Delivered.

Yeah, this says it's "Delco" but I'm suspicious. I see it's made in Singapore, but then again, I reckon all the lookalike parts like this are.

Having one come on the pump saved me another trip to the store - and $40.

Called the local shop I send my wife's Toyota SUV to for labor. Cheapest and highest quality shop I've found. They wanted $475 for parts and labor. After I return the tools and faulty eBay sensor I bought on a whim, I'll be around $465 out of pocket and still have the Tech2.

Win-win.

AC Delco ain't GM anymore. They get stuff made by the same Schlubs in the third world that make parts for the rest of the aftermarket. Unfortunately so does GM. so... Rock and a Hard Place.

I ordered seals from GM in an attempt to get decently manufactured parts. The bags said Made in China so I refused them. I bought SKF seals made in Poland and Taiwan instead... They don't leak and I'm not sorry I did it.

Feels like no brands are what they used to be these days! Everything made in China. Maybe the tariff hike will help with that. Gonna hurt for a little bit, but could be worth it in the end.

Little late to ask this after the fact, but is there a decent tool for popping off the quick disco fuel lines going to the fuel pump without cutting off the nipples?

I'm very familiar with the proper way to use the quick disco tools after completely redoing the fuel lines during LS1 retrofit into my '68 stepside. I tried the cheapo plastic ones I picked up for that. I also tried the scissor style they have at advanced auto. What ultimately worked after knifing the nipples off are the alloy rainbow colored "OEM" brand from auto zone.

Plastic ones couldn't get completely around nipple in the right size - only one size smaller, and the thickness of the wall wasn't enough to pop all four tension tabs above the lip.

Metal 4-size scissor style, couldn't even fit in there because the metal for the shared larger size one interfered with the plastic housing of the pump.

The colorful allow ones were too thick on the handle part and thus couldn't maneuver into position with both semi-circle parts.

Hopefully I won't be doing another fuel pump in this truck for 100k+ more miles but still ...

I have the Lisle 39900 set and a no-name set from Orion.
Probably the colorful angled plastic disconnects in the Lisle set would do the job.
They're both better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick but not a lot in tight quarters.

The otc 6509 is what I use. It’s recessed a little bit and works great on those gm pumps that have limited access.
