Frigidaire AC compressor decals (Limited Time Availability)

A group of us have been working to reproduce accurately the Frigidaire decals that came on the AC compressors from the factory. It is difficult because they were stamped from Frigidaire with the build date and shift. So each decal will have to be individualized.

You can read about the project here:
https://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/...01#post8815601

Decals will cost $30 shipped. They are high quality foil decals and replicate the originals very well.

To order you'll need your Code Number (which is the build date/shift). A photo of the original is appreciated.

I will stop taking orders on October 7th. EDIT: Yes Dwayne I apparently can't use a calendar...but in my defense, space and time feel warped right now.

Re: Frigidaire AC compressor decals (Limited Time Availability)

As reference...here's the original decal and our reproduction for the '69 K10.

The Code No 100381 breaks down to MMDDYS, or rather

10 October
03 3rd
8 1968
1 First Shift

Re: Frigidaire AC compressor decals (Limited Time Availability)

Here are original versions of the '70-71 decal (Long 717) and '72 (Short 717). As far as I know all the '69s were 133s. But I'm sure there was probably overlap. So it's best that you specify which one of the three decals you need. If you don't have an original decal, of course you can select a build date/Code no.

Is that September 7th of next year? I would like to get 2 but that gives me plenty of time.

These are print to order...so posting in this thread gets you on the list. I just need your code number (build date/shift).

Re: Frigidaire AC compressor decals (Limited Time Availability)

I will PM everyone payment info once we've got our complete participant list at week's end. I have ballparked the cost with the printer based on the expected number of decals run. If we have enough participants to drop the price, we're gonna. The aim is to just cover the cost.

How do you find out the built date for a 1971 chevy blazer?

There are a few threads on this - here’s one example: http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=650057

A build date code for the motor, an axle, tcase, transmission, seat foam, printed cluster circuit etc should suffice if original to the truck.

To be clear the code number on the decal is the build date of the compressor itself and will logically fall before the build date of the truck. If you do not have your original compressor decal and are "picking" a code number, you'll want to pick a date 2-3 weeks ahead of the build date of the truck.

Pete's suggestion makes the most sense to me. Find one of the dates he listed and use it for your decal. Any of those dates obviously precede the build date of the truck and logically "could be" the build date of your compressor as well.

How do you read that BTW? Sept. 16 and say what? Perhaps the unit was replaced being the truck was built May 71. If it was, can I change my order I'm kidding.

I know you wished it a happy 50th birthday in September
