08 Sierra Fender Replacement Q's

On my 08 sierra, I went to start sanding the fender down to fix flaking paint, and found a whole lot of bondo in it. So I am wanting to possible replace it.

1. How hard is it to replace? I see headlight out, hood loose on the that side, plastic liner to be removed. Is the inner fender part of the fender, or can it stay?
2. I see 1500's are a different part number from the 2500. Whats the difference? Bigger flares, raised for the taller hood?

Re: 08 Sierra Fender Replacement Q's

ok, did more searching and figured out 1500-2500-3500 are all the same.

But I'm still wondering on #1. What all has to come off/apart?
