Anybody got a Syclone/Typhoon?

Kind of a longshot I know but a buddy of mine is kicking around the idea of trying to find one so I figured I'd ask to see if anyone has some experience with em. He has some money to work with and is looking at everything (we're talking S2000s, Duramaxs, Audis, etc.) and these came up in conversation earlier. I'm just trying to get an idea of what driving one might be like and just an overall opinion of em. And for what it's worth this would serve as a daily driver.

Re: Anybody got a Syclone/Typhoon?

I've got one ... Loads of fun to drive and plenty comfortable to be a daily, but they're not reliable enough for DD service unless they've been treated right and aren't modified. Mine is modified pretty heavily, and every effort was made to make the truck reliable when it was built... I still spend 50% of my time with the truck in pieces

Re: Anybody got a Syclone/Typhoon?

I used to have one...
http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=263280

I loved mine, drove it daily with only one problem....and it was just an old, original part wearing out. The IC pump which was a MAJOR thing but it ran fine without it the three days I waited for it to arrive in the mail.

The local Ford (st)ealership owner bought it at the auction State Farm put on for 9K totaled, he dumped another 13K of the dealership's money into it and has it back to perfect condition, and he wont sell it back to me.

It was number 2025.

JJorg, that is a BEAUTIFUL truck!

Re: Anybody got a Syclone/Typhoon?

If your gonna buy one, check the intercooler to make sure it was coolent in it, and if the left side inner fenderwell is missing, and there is a slew of aftermarker guages I would be weary.....thats usually a sign that someone has driven the hell out of it. And are selling it because they're not as fast as everyone who dont have one claims them as being.

Re: Anybody got a Syclone/Typhoon?

the major problem with these trucks: people thought they were race trucks so a majority of them were abused pretty bad... usually they need at least a new or rebuilt engine...
I have seen a few that have been well taken care of but thats usually older guys (40+).
