Is this S10 worth it??

well Im not on this forum much but I check in here and there some times, Im more into chopped bikes than anything. anyways Im looking at this very clean V8 s10, I have worked around cars for a while and have done body work and paint for about 3 years now and this truck is as straight as can be. it looks great and drives great but it has a salvaged title, Im just trying to see what it is worth to make an offer. its a stock 350/350t w/ stock rear end.

heres some pics

Some opinoins would be great

Thanks

Re: Is this S10 worth it??

All because it has a salvaged title, doesn't mean it was wrecked. It could have been stolen at one time and sold by the insurance co. with the salvaged title.
What kind of asking price is he asking for it ??? Maybe 2-2500

If everything was done correctly, I think 3K would be a fair price for it. A 3/4 drop and that would be a killer looking little first gen

Yeah I agree with Redneck ^ If everything is done correctly 3K would be a decent deal. Definitely needs dropped.

Great weekend driver and show truck. If you plan on using it as a daily driver, upgrade to a 700R4.

Re: Is this S10 worth it??

some states will not license a vehicle with a salvage title... I would check into that first... if they will not then it is a drag strip/show only truck

Re: Is this S10 worth it??

well when I talked to the guy he said that he would write me out an inspection sheet cause I guess it wont pass the norm test. the guy seems really fishy, Im probably going to pass unless I get rid of my truck.

Re: Is this S10 worth it??

im guesing its an 82-84 because of the dash, my 82 has the same dash. you could always buy the truck and find a cab with title and swap tags(i didnt just say that) the price is way steep imo.

Re: Is this S10 worth it??

What are you wanting a V-8 S-10 for? I have 1 that I would possibly sell. Its a '91, yellow, yellow seats, and is a 350/2 speed PG, and very fast! If you don't buy it, but are still looking for something.

Re: Is this S10 worth it??

Remember...most of these trucks were built to be hot rods, so you KNOW that truck has more than likely had the hell drove out of it.

I wouldnt offer more than $4 for it, your just paying for all the time and work involved, other than that its just a dime-a-dozen S10 and these things are everywhere.

It does look nice though.

Re: Is this S10 worth it??

another thing to remember nowadays, there are still vehicles out there that were in New Orleans, Biloxi or one the the southeastern hurricanes and it may have been flooded as well which it may run ok with a few basic tweaks but overall it will soon die...
if he is sounding fishy then you are better off without it.

I have heard, on the news maybe, that there have been people that have bought Katrina cars/trucks, and have cut themselves on them, and ended up in the Hospital. They are still out there being sold.
