Broken 2speed rear end selector help

Okay - 70 c60 broke the rearend h/l selector that is mounted behind the shift motor housing. This is a cast piece that has a steel rod that goes into the rearend housing. The pin sheared off. Anyone have any experience with these? I'm trying to find out if I have to separate rearend to get it repaired? Attached is a picture of the broken piece.
Any help appreciated.

Here's a shot of the other end of the broken shaft inside the housing.
