another lowering question

I don't understand the front lowering springs/shocks. Why would I need new shocks with a 1" spring drop? Shocks do not limit travel, the bumpstop does. Are the shocks relocated, requiring new shocks? I realize the rear needs new shocks as they are repositioned.

PS> Planning a 3.5 (2.5 spindle 1" spring)/5 drop.

Re: another lowering question

With your 1 inch lowering springs you do not need front new shocks. With your your 5 inch drop in the rear you may want to look into relocating your rear shocks to regain shock effectiveness. There are literally at least 50 threads on the rear shock angle issue cause by lowering.

On more aggressive front drops you need new shocks that are designed for a shorter range of travel yet will still provide a full range of dampening. You're losing about 1" of travel, so you likely won't notice much with your stock shock. But technically you're preloading your shock more than at stock height.

Re: another lowering question

Don't worry about aone inch drop. My truck is already about an inch and quarter lower in the front with age.
